[BEGINNER'S GUIDE] BATTLE WITH CHRONOS. "SECRET PLACE" QUEST.

Guia geralPvEPara iniciantes

INTRODUCTION

Chronos is a boss that the player must face during the "Secret Place" quest - part of the storyline that unlocks upon reaching level 20. Depending on the player's class and level of progression, this quest boss can pose a significant challenge. Defeating him is a prerequisite for obtaining the "Path to Skylore" quest and gaining access to the game's final locations (as of this guide's writing).
Access to Chronos's location is found at the fountain in the central square of Echo City. Passing through the portal brings you to a small platform within the Time Rift, where a dialogue with Chronos awaits. He invites you to entertain him in combat.

THE FIGHT

The battle can be broadly divided into two phases:
In the first stage, you must defeat Chronos to entertain him.
Throughout the fight, Chronos frequently uses AoE attacks and applies a debuff that slows the player down. This effect can be removed by interacting with the "Clock Shards" (hourglasses) that appear on the battlefield.
The second stage begins after the initial victory; Chronos declares, "It's not over yet!" and starts a new fight with the player, though he begins with approximately 50% of his health remaining.
The main difficulties with this boss are his large health pool (relative to level 20 players) and his AoE attacks, combined with the slowing effect he casts on the player.
There are various ways to tackle this boss, and the difficulty of the encounter varies depending on the player's class and level.

TIPS FOR THE FIGHT

Tip #1: Don't rush - Tier V equipment becomes available at level 20. At this stage, leveling up is still relatively fast, so you can equip Tier V gear, gain levels, and unlock new skills. For certain classes—such as the Alchemist or Guardian—this solves progression issues.

Tip #2: To deal extra damage, use Bombs, these become available at level 20 and can be purchased from merchants.

Tip #3: While completing quests, you will obtain "Strong Magic Charge" scrolls. These deal significantly more single-target damage than bombs. Use them to secure victory.

Tip #4: Bombs and "Strong Magic Charge" have cooldowns. If your damage output isn't enough, you need to maximize your character's survival. To do this, use Giant Health Concoction and "Fury Scroll: Bloodsucker."

Tip #5: Use helpers. Helpers summoning scrolls are available in the general store and guild shop, and are also awarded for completing quests. For example, "Thundertrike Nibbler" (from the guild shop) not only damages enemies but also casts a Barrier spell on you. Instead of rushing straight to Chronos, stand at the zone entrance to summon your companion and use buff scrolls and elixirs before the fight begins.

You can also use other scrolls to deal damage and further boost your survival during the battle.

To summarize, here are the key points for defeating Chronos:

  • Maximize your survival in combat (Tier V gear, HP buffs, and health regeneration);

  • Maximize your damage output by using scrolls, bombs and helpers;

  • Avoid AoE attacks and remove the slow effect using "Clock Shards."

Good luck with your play and in the world of Skylore!
