Site Update | Android App

Friends, this is the biggest site update we have ever shipped. We rebuilt communication, guilds, profiles and moderation, released an Android app and moved to our own server. Here is everything, section by section.

1. Global chat for everyone

The site now has a global chat, like your own Discord server. Open it with the speech bubble icon in the header.

Two branches: Russian and English. One button switches between them.
Channels: the main chat, rules, a channel for game experts and channels for badge holders.
Your own voice rooms. Anyone can create a room for their group and set a password on it so random people cannot walk in. An empty room is removed automatically.
Top 15 of the month. A ranking of the most active members by messages.
Message search with filters: by channel, author, mentions, date and images.
News and patch notes appear in the chat by themselves as soon as they go live on the site.
Side panel on desktop. The chat slides out on the left on any page, so you can read a guide without leaving the conversation.
Heads-up on mobile. When someone writes to you, a strip with the message appears at the top for a couple of seconds; tap it to open the conversation.

2. Direct messages

You can write to any player with the "Message" button in their profile or in their card in the chat.

Stickers, images, emoji and reactions.
Replies to messages and editing your own messages.
Search through the conversation.
Block list. A blocked person cannot write to you, and their messages in shared chats are hidden.

3. What every chat can do

These work everywhere: in the global chat, in a guild, in an alliance and in direct messages.

Reactions. Up to ten different reactions per message. Hover a reaction to see who added it (on a phone, press and hold).

Swipe to reply. On a phone, pull a message to the left to reply to it.
A reply pings the author. A reply reaches the author as a mention: a badge in the chat, a line in the bell and a notification on the phone.
Mentions. @name pings a person, #channel inserts a link to a chat channel.
Emoji. Almost 500 characters with search in Russian, English, Spanish and Portuguese. They render crisply on any device.
Link cards. A link to an article, a build or a video turns into a neat card.

Profanity filter. Swearing is hidden behind asterisks by default; it can be turned off in the settings.
Spam protection in the global chat and in direct messages.

What opens first. In the settings you can choose what a phone opens in the chat: the channel list or the last conversation.

4. Guilds and alliances

Alliances. Several guilds join together for a shared chat with its own text channels and voice rooms. The leaders of all guilds in an alliance are equal.
Channel access can be limited to specific squads, in an alliance as well.

Guild summon. The leader and officers send everyone a "Your guild is calling you!" notification with one button (no more than once every 15 minutes). It sends a push in the app and a line in the bell.
Switch in the side panel: "Guild chats" ↔ "Global chat", with an unread counter.
Names of guilds and squads are now up to 20 characters, so they fit on one line.

5. Voice chat

The call no longer drops when you switch to the game or turn off the screen.
Join and leave sounds for voice rooms.

Joining from another device no longer bounces you back and forth: the site plainly says that you joined from another device.
A password for your own room in the global chat.

6. A new profile

A new look for the profile card: banner, avatar, guild, join date, "about me", badges and contacts.
Tabs: "Publications" (articles and builds with filters), "Inventory", "Settings".
Editing opens in its own window. The avatar and the banner can be cropped.
Settings are split into groups: profile and site, communication, account and security.
Notifications are turned on one by one, including a separate one for the global chat.
Account deletion is available to you in the settings.

7. Articles and comments

Article subscription. You get a notification about new comments and about edits to the article itself.
Comments can be edited, can carry an image, and someone else's comment can be reported through "⋮".
The comment count is visible right on the article card.
The character counter in comments now counts honestly.
Builds now have the "Dungeon" and "Gorgorush contract" modes.

8. Moderation and safety

Reports about messages, comments and about a person. You can report as many times as you need.
A mute closes only the global chat and comments. Writing in a guild and in direct messages stays open. The muted person gets a notification with the reason and the duration, and a timer ticks next to the message box.
A chat moderator can issue a mute right from a player card or from a profile.
The community rules have been rewritten.

9. The Android app

It will be fully available in the store once the testing period is over (usually two weeks).

Notifications about mentions, replies, direct messages and guild summons: with an avatar, the place and the name, like in a messenger.
Quick reply right from the notification shade.
While the app is open, no notifications arrive: you can already see everything.
Voice in the background: the call keeps going while you are in the game and with the screen off.
A floating widget over the game: you see who is speaking, and a tap opens the microphone, the sound and the leave button. Turn it on in the voice settings.

10. The site got faster

Our own server. The site moved to a server of our own, so pages, chats and images answer faster. You do not need to sign in again.

Site updates no longer interrupt your work: pages stay up while a new version is deployed.
The menu is more compact: articles and databases are grouped, and "Guilds" and "Videos" now sit next to them.
